The Patches menu allows management of patches within Inventory. A patch can be any software update, from
simple update up to critical updates. Patch objects are managed through this menu, and can then be
assigned to different Operating Systems.
You can perform the following operations on patches:
Patch List-
The list is the default view, it shows the list of patches and their targets, and allows
to access view, edit and delete functionality for each patch.
Viewing a Patch-
Viewing a patch is done through the list; Full information displays on the right with the option
to view all OS where this patch was applied.
Adding a Patch-
Clicking the "Add" button will show the add dialog:
- Patch Name - requires the patch name
- Patch Target - is the name of the software the patch is intended for; this can be
an OS, a service or specific software
- Patch Level - You can choose from the listbox which level of importance the patch
carries.
- Notes: - You can enter notes for this patch.
Editing a Patch-
The edit dialog is similar to the Add dialog, and is accessed by clicking on the desired patch
in list view, and then clicking the edit button in the top toolbar.
Deleting a Patch-
Patch deletion is also standard. Note, that when deleting a patch record all patches of this kind
installed in OS records will also be deleted.
